Canada: Nearly All Blue Jay Games to Air in HD
By TVTechnology published
The Toronto Blue Jays will team up with Sportsnet, CBC and TSN to broadcast a total of 144 games (of a possible 162) in HD during the 2008 regular season, starting in early April—nearly twice as many games as last year.
Toronto management said it will mark the first time in the club’s history that all its scheduled broadcasts will be shown in HD by all three Canadian networks. (By comparison, about 80 Blue Jays games aired in HD last season.)
Sportsnet is set to produce 100 games, CBC will do 24, and TSN will handle the remaining 20 contests. The Blue Jays’ season opener is against New York at Yankee Stadium; their home opener in Toronto is against the Boston Red Sox April 4.
The Blue Jays will mark their 32nd season in Toronto this spring.
