Butler Films, in Annapolis, MD, won the 48 Hour Film Project's HD Filmmaker Showdown with its thriller short "Maestro Percival" shot with Panasonic's handheld AG-HVX200 DVCPRO HD camcorder.
The Maryland-based team was awarded an HVX200 camera and Anton/Bauer ELIPZ battery, light and grip kit at the Filmapalooza Film Festival — the 48HFP's festival for filmmakers held in Albuquerque, NM — where the HD Showdown winner was announced on March 10.
"Maestro Percival" team leader/director David Butler, principal of production company Butler Films, now owns two HVX200s, having purchased his first P2 HD camcorder more than a year ago. He has shot several commercial spots with the camera.
