Bulgarian TV7 buys Quantel Newsbox

TV7, based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has installed a Quantel


Quantel’s sQ Cut system will help TV7 launch a daily breakfast show in the fall.

The new system includes ingest and playout automation, 110 hours of MPEG-2 30Mb/s broadcast and browse storage, a built-in ISA database, six sQ Cut and four sQ Edit journalist editors, one sQ Edit Plus craft editor, a Paintbox for graphics creation, the network switch and five years of Quantel’s QCare support.

TV7 plans to begin broadcasting with the system in September. The system will be used for a daily breakfast show, the main 7 p.m. news, a 9 p.m. magazine program, and weekend sports programming.
