Broadcasters, media professionals from around the world to gather for IBC2004

Broadcasters, post-production professionals, digital cinema devotees and anyone interested in the latest technology and trends in the evolving world of television, content development, multimedia, and new avenues of distribution will descend on Amsterdam for IBC2004.

Last year's IBC conference saw more than 44,000 attendees and exhibitors. More than 1000 companies will exhibit at IBC2004.

Following the success of last year’s conference, which saw more than 44,000 attendees and exhibitors pass through Amsterdam RAI, this year's conference, Sept. 9-13, promises something for everyone involved.

This year, each day of the conference will be devoted to a separate theme, including:

  • Delivery and networks, Thursday, Sept. 9
  • Content protection, Friday, Sept. 10
  • Content production, Saturday, Sept. 11
  • Digital lifestyles, Sunday, Sept. 12
  • Digital cinema, Monday, Sept. 13

The conference will feature in-depth coverage of topics critically important to industry professionals through a line up of papers, panel discussions, workshops and tutorials that will focus on the theoretical as well as the practical.

In addition to the robust conference schedule, the show’s exhibition floor promises to be a hotbed of technological innovation. More than 1000 companies will exhibit at IBC2004, showcasing their latest hardware, software and business solutions.

The exhibition will be broken into 11 themed halls, including:

  • Content delivery, including cable and satellite, service providers and broadcasters, set-top boxes, iTV and broadband;
  • Displays;
  • Media asset management;
  • System integration and consultancy;
  • Playout automation;

This year’s exhibition floor will see the launch of the Interactive TV Zone (iTV Zone) where those attending IBC2004 will have an opportunity to see the latest compelling technology and applications in an informal environment. The iTV Zone will focus on the revenue-generating capability of the technology on display there.

Additionally, attendees will have a chance to take the latest home technology for a test spin and learn about the technology directly from vendors.
