British Forces TV uses master control and channel branding tools from Miranda
By TVTechnology published
U.K.-based broadcaster Services Sound & Vision Corporation (SSVC) has installed three Presmaster 2 master control switching and channel branding panels, and three Imagestore master control switching and channel branding processors from Miranda Technoloiges.
The purchases are part of a digitization of the company's entire production and transmission services.
The upgraded production and transmission system at SSVC is due to go live this month. Systems integrator ATG Broadcast installed the Miranda systems with IBIS automation for control of two channels: British Forces Broadcasting Services 1 and 2.
Simon Shute, director of technology for BFBS, said they ingest programs from all of the main U.K. networks, and some of the shows go out live, simultaneous with their U.K. airing. Miranda’s template-based approach to channel branding graphics allows BFBS to store unbranded clips on servers, then use the IBIS automation system to drive appropriate channel branding.
