Braves Advance Stadium Productions with Ross XPression

The Atlanta Braves have chosen Ross Video’s XPression CG, a real-time 2D/3D character generator, for the control room of the newly constructed Gwinnett Stadium based on its powerful 3D feature set and unmatched data integration. The Braves also plan to install XPression at Turner Field for a yet to be announced special application, with implementation planned for the summer of 2009.

“XPression offered us an advanced 3D graphics feature set that could be easily driven with real-time stats. Ross’ team was also able to meet our data integration needs,” said Chip Graham, technical operations manager, BravesVision. “Another advantage is that we get a sense of a true partnership with Ross. This is something that is important in the graphics environment, as we want our vendor and product line to grow with our needs.”

XPression is a 3D character generator that can handle the most demanding applications. XPression offers real-time layering and animation of 3D models, 2D and 3D text, rendered animations, live video and Web content. Designed for the graphic designer, programmer, and on-air operator, XPression advances the look of productions, making it easy to create, manage, and get to air. As a data-driven system, XPression is able to integrate real-time data into 3D graphics and animations with live connections to spreadsheets, databases, RSS feeds, newsroom editorial systems and other live data sources.

“We are excited to be working closely with the Braves organization, which has already helped us optimize our XPression CG for game day workflows,”said Jeff Moore, executive vice president, Sales and Marketing, Ross Video. “This partnership will help us further develop XPression to mirror the success we’ve had with our other product offerings in sports production.”
