CBS Launches Vertical Sports Ad Network

CBS College Sports Network, along with the NCAA and CBSSports.com are creating CBS College Sports Media, an interactive vertical advertising network of the combined properties plus another 215 college sports Web sites.

The platform will offer display and video advertising on the various Web sites featuring sports videos, news, scores, analysis, blogs, podcasts and photo galleries. CBS College Sports Media said it reached more than 10 million unique visitors in March, a la the Madness, and “billions” of impressions are expected to be generated over the course of the rest of a year. The alignment will help the CBS Sports sales team to bundle the network“s various media properties.

CBS College Sports Network produces NCAA.com, which carries coverage of collegiate athletics across all three NCAA divisions. Live video on NCAA.com includes March Madness on Demand. This year, the production gave users the ability to view all 63 Division I games in the championship, the first time the entire event has been streamed live online. The on-demand version of the games drew more than 4.75 million unique visitors over the course of the tourney, up 164 percent over last year.
