Aviom audio networking helps “Wheel of Fortune” telecast

The show used two Aviom AN-16/i-M mic input modules and a complementary pair of AN-16/o output modules, which deliver 32 channels of mic signals over a single cable.

At a recent taping of “Wheel of Fortune’s Big XII College Week,” where the University of Kansas and University of Missouri marching bands performed, a pair of Aviom’s AN-16/i-M mic input and output modules were used in place of unsightly and hazardous cables running across the floor.

Bill Daly, system engineer and sound designer for PRG, chose the Aviom equipment as an alternate way to run audio cabling during the weeklong series of shows. Thirty-two channels of mic signals were distributed through a single CAT-5 cable. The system employed two Aviom AN-16/i-M mic input modules coupled with two AN-16/o output modules.
