Auburn University readies new video boards for football

The Auburn University Athletics Department decided to install a HD video display inside Jordan-Hare Stadium before the 2007 football season. The HD display will measure 30ft high by 74ft wide and will take advantage of Daktronics’ latest HD-12 LED technology.

The $2.9 million upgrade will incorporate Daktronics video technology, which includes full-color HD resolution, wide viewing angles and resolution enhancement with subpixel control. The screen will have the capability to show a single, widescreen image and can also be split into multiple windows to show lineups, game statistics and out-of-town game information. The active area of the new display — to be populated by more than one million individual LEDs — will exceed 2200sq-ft.
