Associated Press Television Installs New Routing System

Associated Press Television Networks has recently installed a new router and router control technology at its key U.S. facility in Washington, D.C.

The new router from Pro-Bel is a 255x256 standard-definition matrix from the company's Sirius line. The system is HD-ready and replaces an analog routing system at APTN. The Pro-Bel Aurora control system is being used in conjunction with the router matrix, along with Pro-Bel's Morpheus control and monitoring software.

"Pro-Bel continues to innovate and the Morpheus line is a prime example," said Neil Maycock, president of Pro-Bel U.S. "Combined with the flexibility of Sirius routing we can satisfy all situations. It is a pleasure to see companies with the stature of APTN using our products over a considerable period of time."

APTN supplies content to more than 330 broadcasters worldwide. Pro-Bel routing and control technology has previously been installed in APTN's London and New York facilities.
