Andrew Corporation announced it has acquired selected assets of Channel Master LLC and some of its subsidiaries. According to the Andrew Press Release, the assets include "equipment, inventory, intellectual property, and a lease on a portion of the Smithfield, North Carolina facility for a period of up to 18 months." Paul Cox, Group President of Antenna Products at Andrew Corp., said, "Channel Master's products will significantly strengthen our existing product portfolio and create greater customer value. The combination of assets in small satellite antennas will enable Andrew to be a major player in the satellite communications market."
As of Sunday, no information on the Andrew acquisition had been posted on the Channel Master web site. Channel Master designs and manufactures professional VSAT, consumer DBS and television antennas and accessories at facilities in Smithfield, NC; Blackburn, England; Theale, England; Pforzheim, Germany; and Hong Kong. Information was not available on the status of facilities other than Smithfield or Channel Master's consumer TV antenna products.
