"American Idol" sings with Sennheiser mics

Fox's American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson uses the Sennheiser/Neumann hybrid wireless microphone during the show's finale.

Several Sennheiser microphones were used during the two-day finale of Fox's "American Idol."

Klaus Landsberg of Albo Productions said the show fielded 22 Sennheiser/Neumann KK 105-S/5000 hybrid wireless handheld microphones plus 20 Sennheiser SK 5012 wireless bodypack transmitters and lavalier microphones.

Landsberg performed the live on-air audio mix for the two-day finale in the Denali production truck backstage at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.

The finale included a medley by the top 10 finalists and an appearance by the U.K. winner of "Pop Idol." Landsberg had 20 lavs and 20 hand mics for all the contestants and hosts.
