Vancouver’s channel m consolidates scheduling into one tool

Channel m, a multicultural broadcast station serving Vancouver, British Columbia, and its surrounding areas, has changed the way it is scheduling and managing its facilities and personnel. The station is now tracking its resources through a single software program and using knowledge within its system for invoicing, reporting and other activities that enhance the broadcaster’s efficiency.

The channel offers viewers 58 hours of locally produced programming each week, so the station deals with many different producers and projects. The company is using ScheduALL’s EDGE resource management solution to manage these, as well as all print and video, resources.

At channel m, the software manages everything from online Avid and Pro Tools suites to graphics areas and the entire studio, as well as the facility’s EFP productions. The station also uses it in a project-centered manner to track commercial projects, internal promotions and external projects, including documentaries and independent productions.

EDGE is an entry-level resource management solution designed for the needs of smaller post-production and production operations. EDGE delivers increased efficiency in the scheduling and management of personnel, facilities and equipment.
