Microsoft Studios, the internal video production facility group for Microsoft, has chosen North Plains Systems' Telescope Enterprise to manage its video assets.
Microsoft manages video, audio, 3-D animations, 2-D graphics and multimedia presentations. The software giant said it chose North Plain's solution because of its rich metadata support and flexible storage configuration options.
However, Microsoft said the most compelling aspect of TeleScope Enterprise was the functional rules feature, which provides the capability to add automated workflow routines and other customized features.
TeleScope Enterprise supports the creation, integration and repurposing of rich media and time-based information. It was designed to serve as the central repository of an organization's digital media content.
The application platform can be used for deploying DAM systems as part of a company's Web services strategy or a service oriented architecture (SOA) for information management.
