Henry Stewart DAM Symposium set to open

The Henry Stewart Digital Asset Management (DAM) Symposium is set for its 8th annual conference -- Nov. 16-17, in Los Angeles with a wealth of sessions and panel discussions presented by representatives from some of the largest media companies in the world.

The expanded conference will focus on the client side of DAM, while presenting case studies (both successes and failures) that have occurred or are presently in place at these major media organizations.

As part of the conference’s digital asset management panels, executives from Warner Bros. will present its vision for a media asset retrieval system (MARS). The system has been deployed in Hollywood and provides unlimited access to content around the world.

The BBC will discuss its company-wide Jupiter Project at the conference, which makes heavy use of systems from BBC Technology, Quantel and others in a networked environment that streamlines its end-to-end production (and post) of various television news and entertainment programs and series.

The Children’s Television Workshop will provide perspective on its massive archive and retrieval project that aggregates content in order to keep its children’s program “Sesame Street” running in numerous countries for many years. More than 50 percent of the content is localized for the different markets.

The speaker panels include: BBC News, BBDO, Cabelas, Charles Schwab & Co., Corbis, Discovery Communications, Doculabs, DreamWorks, Electronic Arts, Getty Images, GISTICS, HBO, Hearst Magazines, IDC, InfoTrends/CAP Ventures, J. Paul Getty Museum, Landor, LA Times, Microsoft, NIKE, Nissan, PeopleSoft, Perspective Media Group, Publicis, Scripps Networks, Sesame Workshop, Simon & Schuster, Sony Pictures, TBWA/Chiat/Day, TranTech, Universal Studios, Walt Disney Feature Animation and Whirlpool.
