EVS server provides flexibility for Confederations Cup coverage

During the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 in Germany, EVS supplied a complete sports-oriented central server system with logging, multi-feed recording, browsing, archive and event editing capabilities.

The central server had six inputs and six outputs with 4.5TB of storage, or up to 240 hours of recording.

For each of the 16 games the input allocation included:

  • A Broadcast International Feed (BIF) and a Clean International Feed (CIF)
  • Cameras dedicated to specific players on each team
  • Cameras dedicated to the benches
  • Compilations of the best actions from isolated replay camera feeds.

This compilation feed was produced on the Outside Broadcast side by an LSM operator with access to the recorded material on six networked HD XT[2] servers.
