Chicago station turns to Sony LCD, CRT monitors for control room

WTTW-TV in Chicago is making Sony professional LCD and CRT monitors the centerpiece of its new digital multi-format control room.

The station is installing several LUMA LCD and BVM-A CRT monitors to upgrade the station's monitoring capabilities. The station is installing several Sony LUMA LMD172WS 17in wide-screen monitors, which will co-exist with two Sony BVMA24E1WU 24in CRT monitors.

The 24in CRT widescreen monitors will be used for Line and Preview. They will be the reference monitors used in judging a final video product. Directors and technical directors will primarily use the LUMA displays as camera monitors.
