Atlanta Braves, Comcast launch around-the-clock channel devoted to team

BravesVision, a 24-hour Atlanta Braves cable station offered to metro-area digital subscribers of Comcast Cable, came to life Tuesday, Sept. 21, with coverage of batting practice from Turner Field.

The new channel is the product of a partnership between Comcast and the Atlanta Braves. It will offer continuous coverage of the Braves, including live HD coverage of some home games, press conferences, feature stories, interviews, and in the off-season, replays of classic Braves contests.

The new channel follows in the footsteps of another Comcast venture, FalconsVision, launched last year to provide continuous local coverage of the Atlanta NFL franchise.

According to Comcast, there are no current plans to make BravesVision available to a national audience.

Braves coverage on TBS and elsewhere will not be affected by the new Comcast-Braves venture.
