ABC News launched a comprehensive news and entertainment podcast site featuring an additional daily edition of ABC News’ political newsletter, The AfterNote; daily highlights from Good Morning America and Nightline; and a variety of entertainment segments.

The ABC News podcasts are now available for free download at www.abcnews.com/Technology/Podcasting.

The availability of ABC News content via podcasting adds to a growing list of alternate distribution avenues the network is using, including the Sony PSP and wireless devices, such as mobile phones.

The AfterNote podcast, released each evening, will provide insider commentary to wrap-up the political events of the day and will build on the success of ABC News’ morning political newsletter, The Note. A new edition of the technology rundown, CyberShake, will be available each day as well as daily podcasts on the latest business, technology, travel, and health news.

Podcasts are audio files that be transported to an iPod or MP3 player and are the latest on-the-go, on-demand technology. Users who subscribe to the ABC News RSS feed with a podcasting application will have the files automatically downloaded to their personal computer and then transferred to an iPod or other MP3 player.
