Yahoo! rolls out beta version of Go 3.0 mobile application
By TVTechnology published
Yahoo! at last week’s CES show launched the beta version of its Yahoo! Go 3.0 mobile application, featuring an upgraded user interface, personalized start page and customizable access to Internet brands and services through third-party widgets.
Users can navigate Yahoo! Go 3.0 through a traditional carousel or the new icon layout, designed to make more efficient use of a mobile phone’s small screen. A new home widget provides updates on how many new e-mails have arrived, upcoming calendar appointments and new photos posted to Flickr by friends as well as a customizable collection of previews of the user's favorite Web content. Other features include the Yahoo! oneSearch search mechanism and the ability to access Internet content and services within a single client on the phone. Widgets now accessible include those from eBay, MySpace and MTV, accessible via the Widget Gallery in Yahoo! Go 3.0. The Widget Gallery will showcase both Yahoo! Mobile Widgets as well as a growing selection of widgets from third-party developers.
