WWL-TV buys Pixel Power Clarity for newsroom

Pixel Power announced that WWL-TV, Channel 4 in New Orleans, has purchased two Clarity 500 and two Clarity 5000 systems for its newsroom operation.

Replacing WWL-TV’s current still stores and digital disk recorder, the company said the Clarity 500 systems were chosen because of their easy integration with the Avid iNews Newsroom System.

With the Clarity 500s, news producers can search, browse, choose, title and monitor graphics without user intervention. If a special graphic is needed, the producer clicks a button to request it and the job is submitted to a graphic artist for execution and input into the show.

The Clarity 500s are used exclusively for WWL-TV’s six hours of daily newscasts. One Clarity system handles all graphics built by news producers through iNews. The other builds some of the full screen graphics.
