By TVTechnology published
Vela will introduce its latest encoder at NAB2005 in the form of Argus HD. The Argus HD has real-time, frame-accurate 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding, HD SDI input, embedded audio in the SDI stream and it supports all ATSC formats and Dolby Digital. Additional features include VBR/CBR encoding, closed captioning, 3:2 pulldown detection, and the PCI board level Argus HD works in real time.
The Argus HD is available with integrated RecordAdvantage end-user software GUI video management tools. For developers who prefer to create custom applications around the Argus HD encoder, an application-programming interface based on the Microsoft Common Object Model is available.
The Argus HD encoder and CineView HD Pro decoder will be demonstrated for the first time at NAB, in the Vela Booth SL4401.
