Valuable Group integrates content security from Nagravision for MovieBeam service

In its first major deal since acquiring MovieBeam, Mumbai-based Valuable Group has re-established MovieBeam’s relationship with Nagravision, a provider of content protection and value-added service technology. The new agreement will add secure conditional software to MovieBeam’s set-top boxes, calming content owners’ fears of piracy and illegal file-sharing.

Nagravision uses proprietary encryption technologies. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company maintains partnerships with more than 120 pay-TV operators worldwide securing content delivered to more than 92 million active smart card and devices.

The Valuable Group will invest $100 million over the next two years for MovieBeam’s relaunch in North America, the United Kingdom and other markets. Films will be delivered in HD, offering viewers access to a massive library of past titles as well as the latest releases.

The Valuable Group operates one of the largest satellite-based digital cinema networks in the world (UFO Moviez), servicing more than 1200 theatres. With offices worldwide, Valuable Group has expanded its presence to include Los Angeles as well as a MovieBeam development facility in Seattle.
