T-VIPS Expands Into Americas

T-VIPS, the Oslo, Norway-based designer and supplier of solutions for the backhaul of broadcast-quality video signals over IP networks, will increase its North American market presence with the opening of a New York-area office and the NAB2007 launch of new products specifically designed for the North American market.

"The opening of a U.S. office is crucial to our future development," said Johnny Dolvik, CEO of T-VIPS. "Our products are already deployed at U.S. broadcasters, enabling our customers to use cost-effective IP Ethernet networks for the backhaul of both SD and HD video."

In Las Vegas, T-VIPS will introduce TVG430, as well as the cProcessor product family. The TVG43 provides for transmission of HDTV-over-IP networks with JPEG2000 compression. The cProcessor is a line of compact solutions for the adaptation of MPEG-2 transport streams, and includes the CP510 processor, CP520 multiplexer, and CP540 monitoring switch.

"T-VIPS' innovative products, a highlight of which is our groundbreaking range of solutions utilizing JPEG2000 compression for HD and SD backhaul over IP, have a great opportunity to take center stage in the U.S.," said Rajiv Thapar, sales director, T-VIPS. "The importance of sport, regional programming and the rise of HD content, all mean that T-VIPS' IP backhaul solutions offer broadcasters and network operators real business benefits."

T-VIPS will be in booth SU10030.
