SSL unveils new C300 HD studio system

Solid State Logic has unveiled its upgraded master studio system, the C300 HD. Recently demonstrated at NAB2007, the new version is a compact, assignable console designed for fast and efficient sweetening and mix creation. The C300 HD fully addresses the requirements of nonlinear film and TV production, delivering operational efficiency in a cost-effective, scalable solution.

Key upgrades include tri-level sync support, serial control of HD VTRs and an enhanced 96kHz feature set with provision for up to 16 discrete audio channels. Among the other notable features are a rec/direct switch option, choice of side/rear surround panning in three or four channels and an improved center-section user interface. The new GUI has a larger time code display, 32 full-resolution meters and extended mix pass list with 10 levels of undo.

The C300 HD integrates DAW control using techniques pioneered by the AWS 900+ Analogue Workstation System. Automation developed from the C200 Digital Production Console provides complete real and non-real-time control over the console’s powerful signal processing, allowing operators to design whatever level of control they need to maximize efficiency, including the setup of whole scenes with the press of a locate key.
