At IBC2009, Softel will highlight the Swift subtitling/captioning system. Swift vTX can encode, transcode, extract and reinsert subtitles, captions and ancillary data on video server assets.
The solution supports many file formats, HD and SD, including MXF, and has direct interfaces with leading video servers and automation systems. Swift TX meets the demands of multiformat time-of-air subtitle transmission, with high availability, automation interfaces and the ability to transcode in real time. It also can transcode VBI or VANC encoded subtitles to open or closed teletext or DVB format subtitles.
