Radiant Releases New Cable Channel Inserter

Radiant Communications has released a new device that allows cable systems to insert local channels in place of existing 6 MHz QAM channels without losing bandwidth.

The QRF5200 works in conjunction with Radiant's QRF5000 baseband video/audio to QAM encoder. The pair allows cable operators to rapidly deploy all-digital channel lineups to customers.

"Radiant Communications' release of the QRF5200 continues our long legacy of delivering cost-effective, reliable solutions that meet the ever-changing demands of today's networks," said Lou Nagorsky, national sales manager for Radiant Communications. "By replacing channels on digital lineups for very local signals and conserving bandwidth, the QRF5200 is truly a unique channel replacement device."

The QRF5200 is the newest in a line of QAM channel inserters from Radiant. The equipment is designed to support both legacy and current cable set-top boxes.
