Pro-Bel to show Morpheus ICE enhancements at IBC2008

At IBC2008, Pro-Bel will present its Morpheus ICE to the European market. Morpheus ICE is a stand-alone 3RU automation and master control system based on the company's Morpheus automation technology, including its Media Ball approach to secondary event management. Morpheus ICE is fully compatible with existing file formats, and it provides everything broadcasters need for single-channel playout and, by linking ICE units together, a multichannel environment.

New enhancements to be shown include the addition of an even more advanced scheduling tool, which features an intelligent search and replace functionality for finding any content by type, titles, scheduled time, duration, etc. Content can also automatically be removed and replaced where necessary.

Morpheus also now allows live events broadcasters the flexibility to schedule different commercial breaks for the same slot, using whichever is the most appropriate at the last minute.

Morpheus continues to expand its media management capabilities with the inclusion of tools to import subtitle and audio voice-over files. Now, third-party systems can “push” the appropriate metadata to the Morpheus system, so it can ensure that all of the media components are in the correct location for playout.

Pro-Bel's overarching command and control system now benefits from a new system architecture application, allowing users to enter their system design and use that as the foundation for viewing routing from a system point of view rather than inputs and outputs.

There is also a new events management tool. This forms a powerful basis for multiple user-configurable applications, from raising alarms to performing actions based on the system status. Users can enter rules with a graphic logic representation or use text-based entry to give flexibility and a full understanding of the events and outcomes.
