NOW unveils local TV iPhone application

News Over Wireless has made available a local TV iPhone application via the iPhone App Store.

Designed to take advantage of the iPhone's multitouch interface, the application features local news, video, weather forecasts, traffic images and more from WRAL, in Raleigh, NC. Both properties are operated by CBC New Media Group, a division of Capitol Broadcasting.

NOW designed its first iPhone application to include national and local advertising. National advertising is supported by NOW's ad router and network of ad partners, while the TV station sells to local advertisers. Both provide new revenue streams for the station.

NOW currently partners with 114 local and national media companies to provide custom mobile applications and services delivering news, entertainment and information to mobile phone users. Other iPhone applications from the company are planned for 2009.
