Multidyne, Brazilian dealer, broadcaster develop fiber STL transport

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, Brazilian equipment dealer Sterling do Brasil, and independent Brazilian TV Network Rede Paranaense de Comunicacao (RPC) have jointly created a complete fiber optic transport solution for studio-to-transmitter (STL) links.

The ANDIG-2500-BR, introduced this week at IBC2008 in Amsterdam, is a 1RU complete fiber-optic transport solution for extending a pure analog 10MHz sinusoidal reference signal and an ASI, SMPTE 33Mb/s data stream over two fibers.

The 1RU frame houses two power supplies in both the transmitter and receiver units to provide full-power redundancy on both sides. The ASI 33Mb/s data stream transmitter input has two BNC connectors.

The analog section has front panel adjustments for gain and up to 300m of EQ. The input impedance can be set to 50-ohm or 75-ohm impedance. Both the transmitter and receiver have video and optical front panel status indicators with dry alarm relay contacts. The ANDIG-2500-BR receiver has a dual output for the 33Mb/s data stream with SMPTE reclocking and EQ.
