Linear Acoustic debuts Aeromax-5.1 at Chinese broadcast show

At the BIRTV trade show in Beijing, Linear Acoustic will debut its AEROMAX-5.1 10-channel DTV audio processor with Digirise DRA for Chinese multichannel audio encoding applications. The new unit combines network-proven dynamics processing for loudness control with surround-sound upmixing, and features metadata handling and extensive local audio features. The AEROMAX-5.1 is the first professional product to offer optional two-channel and 5.1-channel encoding for broadcast using the new high-quality Chinese Digirise DRA audio encoder. Dolby Digital (AC-3) encoding is also available.

AEROMAX-5.1 accepts 10 channels of audio, including a 5.1 program, a separate two-channel program and a digital or analog auxiliary stereo program. A fully processed Lt-Rt or Lo-Ro downmix version of the main program is continuously available via both digital and analog outputs to feed legacy two-channel paths. A front-panel headphone connector provides simple local monitoring.

AEROMAX-5.1 is the latest in a family of products for multichannel TV audio processing for controlling loudness and ensuring stable audio imaging for 5.1-channel broadcasts. Demonstrations of AEROMAX-5.1, AEROMAX-DTV and AEROMAX-TV with Crowd Control will be available at the Linear Acoustic stand, 5012, at BIRTV2007.
