JK Audio revamps Innkeeper telephone interface line

JK Audio has announced a redesign of its Innkeeper line of digital-analog telephone interfaces. The desktop model, Innkeeper 1x, and the rack-mount Innkeeper 1rx have been upgraded with a new look, an improved echo canceller, lower noise and a reduced list price.

The Innkeeper is designed to get audio into and out of telephone lines using 16-bit DSP and echo cancellation to eliminate transmit/receive crosstalk, making it perfect for broadcast talk shows, teleconferencing and auto-answer IFB feeds. The devices connect to a standard analog telephone line, delivering the caller's voice with exceptional clarity with excellent separation of the send and transmit audio signals. The new generation of Innkeepers sports a user-friendly interface, front-panel headphone jack with volume control, RS-232 remote interface and an IP interface for remote control from any common Web browser. A presence button enriches the sound quality of the incoming voice signal. Monitoring options include a choice of incoming or outgoing audio, or a mix of the two, and rear-panel screw terminals, making it easy to add a monitor speaker.

The optional Guest Module 1 allows remote control of call/drop and dialing functions, while the RIU-IP allows control of all functions via remote Web browser. JK Audio also announced full compliance of the new Innkeeper design for sales in Europe and Australia. The previous Innkeeper 1 and 1r models have been discontinued.
