Avid has introduced Version 2.0 of its iNews system broadcast tools, which now supports Linux operating system, enabling more operating platforms and tighter integration with Avid end-to-end news production environments and third party news systems.
Added production features include a data receiver that enables the system to ingest information from diverse sources for immediate newsgathering; rundown mirroring, which copies rundowns to another location within the system for disaster recovery and accessibility across stations; and MOS drag-and-drop to rundown. iNews interoperates with Avid video editing systems, and options include MOS, ControlAir device drivers or FTP.
