Industrial design group, BusinessWeek honor Panasonic for AG-HVX200

Panasonic Broadcast announced that its high-definition, solid-state memory AG-HVX200 hand-held camcorder has received a bronze in the 2006 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) competition for the best designed product in business and industry.

The IDEAs are co-sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and BusinessWeek magazine and recognize exceptionally designed products that enhance quality of life and the economy.

The HVX200 DVCPRO HD camcorder was among six Panasonic products honored with an IDEA for exceptional design. Panasonic received more IDEAs than any other corporation or design firm in this year’s competition. The awards are featured in the July 10 issue of BusinessWeek magazine and online at www.businessweek.com.

The HVX200 was commended for its compact, portable design; multiple high-definition and standard-definition formats; and workflow-enhancing P2 technology. The camcorder was lauded as having the look “professional cameramen have been waiting for.”
