IABM marks NAB2006 with membership record

The International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers (IABM) announced at NAB2006 that its membership has grown more than 20 percent since last year’s convention.

More than 200 companies from around the world are now members, setting a record for the organization.

One reason for the membership growth is the market intelligence resources the association provides, according to the IABM. Two such examples are the association’s Executive Summit and the recent introduction of the IABM quarterly Industry Trends Survey. Conducted in conjunction with Ernst & Young, the survey provides a confidential way of collating and supplying market intelligence information to members.

At NAB2006, the association launched a new training DVD, “Broadcast Equipment – What is it and what it does.” The DVD is an introduction for non-technical staff to the technology used in broadcasting.
