Harris to Highlight Newsroom Solutions, 3 Gbps Support

At NAB2007, Harris Corp. will showcase its new file-based newsroom solution, NewsForce, which is built upon the company's advanced NEXIO XS shared storage server architecture.

NewsForce will include a new generation of Harris editors optimized for the fast cutting, voicing and airing of news. A key element of NewsForce is the new Harris family of on-SAN news editors, all sharing the same flexible Velocity user interface. NewsForce also integrates with the Harris Inscriber G-Series graphics systems.

Harris will also show 3 Gbps support across its signal processing and distribution product portfolio, enabling broadcasters to migrate from the existing 720p and 1080i HDTV standards to the emerging 1080p format. Highlighted products will include the X75 HD multiple-path converter/synchronizer; distribution amplifiers in the high-quality 6800+ modular core processing platform; the Panacea routing switcher for small routing applications; and the Platinum and Platinum MX routing switchers.

At NAB, Harris will also reveal the company's plans about a new mobile TV standard it is proposing that uses broadcasters' DTV signals to transmit audio video content to mobile devices, dubbed "MPH." Harris is also showcasing a suite of high-definition television MPEG-4 part 10 (H.264) compression products.

Harris Corp. will be in booth N2502.
