Grass Valley will unveil its new dMAX initiative (digital media asset maximization) at NAB.
dMAX expands the company's Grass Valley C2MD programs for centralized facility monitoring, leverages Thomson's media asset management technology and also provides a new Grass Valley OnCall service level agreement (SLA) that helps those in the media implement multi-distribution workflows.
The SLA program is a subscription service that provides 24-hour parts replacement and coverage for products with expired warranties and on-site engineering staff, all supported by the new C2MD program.
Later this year, Grass Valley will launch a new platform of software-based workflow management applications to manage digital audio and video clips. Targeted at smaller broadcasters, production studios and post-production facilities, the new suite of tools will be fully compatible with and securely tie together Grass Valley's existing and next generation Grass Valley brand servers, ingest tools and editing and facility monitoring systems.
Other highlights at the Thomson Grass Valley booth include four new cameras, an integrated production system, a solid-state dockable recorder for digital cinematography and HD cameras as well as enhancements to its signal-management systems and film production product lines.
