German news broadcaster relies on Link central receive site

Link Research distributor MCI has installed a city receive site for German news broadcaster n-tv in Berlin, which makes it possible to transmit live news from central Berlin and the German Parliament via wireless camera systems.

A part of RTL Group, n-tv is the first broadcaster in country to use wireless cameras with a fixed receive site. Link Research in the UK is supplying the antennas and receivers. n-tv already uses LinkXP transmitters for its news cameras.

n-tv's news teams can go straight to the city center by car or on foot, unpack their wireless cameras and start transmitting directly, sending live news to the studio.

The receive site has four antennas, which provide 360 degrees wireless camera coverage for the area around the German Parliament and a large area of the city center, including the Brandenburg Gate.
