Frontier Silicon announces receiver compatible with DAB, T-DMB and DAB-IP standards

Frontier Silicon last week launched a new single-chip receiver, the Paradiso 1T (FS1032), designed to support all modes of DAB, T-DMB and DAB-IP mobile broadcasting standards. Using enhanced system-in-package (SiP) techniques, the receiver incorporates the company's digiSHIELD technology for a high-performance RF tuner with ancillary passive components.

Main features include high-level API software (Brando) integrated with most of the main middleware vendors to help accelerate the time-to-market for new handsets; compatibility with other members of the Paradiso 1 family, including the Paradiso 1H (FS1031) DVB-H SiP; and the digiSHIELD technology, which uses noise suppression techniques to minimize the coupling of clock noise and digital interference from the baseband die to the RF tuner and maximize RF sensitivity and adjacent channel rejection performance.

The Paradiso 1T will be available for mass production in the third quarter of this year.
