Doremi Announces HD Capture Station

Doremi Labs will introduce the Orca Capture Station, an HD MPEG-2 record and playback solution capable of compression rates up to 160 Mbps. Orca CS combines the tools for real-time HD MPEG-2 processing in one package, encoding SDI or HD-SDI to HD MPEG-2 at up to 160 Mbps directly to the system's hard drive. The encoding process can be previewed live or played back at a later time using composite, DVI, SDI or HD-SDI video outputs.

Orca CS provides users with a choice of encoding parameters such as GOP structure, 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 encoding profiles and compression bit rate. Control of the encoding as well as an external VTR or DDR is provided from within a Windows/Linux software utility. Orca Capture Station consists of Doremi's Orca Encoder and a DVB/ASI stream recorder housed in a Linux-based chassis with 500 GB of storage, working with the company Nugget decoder in a separate chassis.

Doremi will be in Booth C2342.
