DK-Technologies to launch four-in-one waveform monitor at NAB2008

At NAB2008 in Las Vegas, DK-Technologies will introduce the PTO760, a lightweight HD/SD waveform monitor designed for use in OB trucks, production studios and master control rooms. Effectively four HD/SD waveform monitors in one box, the unit is also ideal for CCUs and can be half rack mounted. DK will have fully operational demo products at the upcoming NAB2008 in booth N1533.

The PTO760 features four separate auto-sensing HD/SD inputs that allow for the simultaneous display of four individual waveform monitors showing G, R, B, Y, Cb, Cr and luminance. It also has a quad splitter that enables the user to view four simultaneous displays on a single screen, either external or internal. DK has incorporated a built-in rasterizer so all of the functions of the PTO760 can be seen on an SD or HD monitor, while retaining the functionality of the built-in monitor as a control panel.

The unit’s HD/SD internal video test signal generator has an independent output and provides test signals in 1080p, 1080i, 720p and SD formats. The test signals include several color bar signals, color black, SDI checkfield and monitor alignment signals. For ease of use, DK has provided 11 user presets, user definable gamut error settings and 10 soft keys for fast setup. Horizontal and vertical zoom is achieved via jogwheel.

The new PTO760 can also incorporate DK’s MSD range of audio meters, which feature the company’s JellyFish and StarFish displays for stereo and surround-sound monitoring. This combination of video and audio metering includes HD/SD audio de-embedding, surround-sound metering, peak level audio and seven available scales to conform to in-house standards. Users choosing this combined option also benefit from DK’s new ITU 1770 loudness meter, which uses an approved ITU algorithm covering stereo and monophonic audio signals.
