Dell To Sell LCD TVs
By TVTechnology published
On the heels of last month's announcement that it would enter the consumer electronics market, computer maker Dell says it will soon begin marketing a 17-inch LCD digital television.
The Dell W1700 combines a traditional flat panel monitor and television tuner, and will be available in the U.S. and Canada next week. It features VGA and DVI inputs for use with a computer system, and an integrated tuner and S-video, component video and composite video inputs for use as a television. The display is HDTV-ready, includes integrated speakers that deliver up to 5 W per channel.
On a related note, Dell also says it is negotiating a deal to sell DirecTV/TiVo combination satellite receiver/personal video recorders starting in November.
