Crystal Vision to unveil pair of new chroma keyers

Crystal Vision will show two new chroma keyers, the Safire HD 2 and Safire SD 2, at IBC2007.

The Safire HD 2 chroma keyer allows greater tolerance of difficult colors in the foreground, such as a blue shirt in front of a blue screen. The unit does so by providing two sets of hue and acceptance angle controls. It also offers enhanced shadow processing.

The new Safire SD 2 provides an easy upgrade path to HD because it uses the same hardware platform as Safire HD 2. Upgrading to HD requires swapping the module’s daughter card.

Crystal Vision will also showcase its Q-Down broadcast downconverter and distribution amplifier. Q-Down offers a delay of only 16 lines and is well suited for studios and control rooms being converted to HD. Q-Down is available in single-slot and double-decker versions.
