Calrec Audio to Introduce Bluefin Audio Processing System

Calrec Audio will unveil a new signal processing system at NAB2006.

The Bluefin High Density processing system provides 200 percent more processing power in 92 percent less physical space, according to Calrec. The technology makes available a total of 480 equivalent mono signal paths on one circuit card.

"The Bluefin technology project has been in development for a number of years and elements of the technology have been used in the Alpha console since its launch in 1999, said John Gluck, Calrec sales manager. "Quite simply, Bluefin doubles the processing power of the largest Calrec Alpha console and more than doubles smaller versions.

The new design provides full EQ, dynamics, and delay on all channels, and can provide 78 full 5.1 surround channels. It uses less power, produces less heat and can be retrofitted to existing Alpha consoles.

Calrec will be in Booth N917.
