Brazilian religious channel distributed to Asia via SatLink Communications
By TVTechnology published
TV Canção Nova, a Brazilian Catholic channel, is now watched by viewers in Asia using SatLink Communications’ AsiaSat 2 MCPC platform. With the Vatican’s representatives in the Holy Land (Custodia di Terra Santa) already connected to SatLink’s teleport via fiber optics, this move is yet another step in the growing relationship between the two.
Although available elsewhere, TV Canção Nova’s launch to AsiaSat 2 is its first step into Asia and the Pacific region. The channel offers spirituality, journalism, children’s shows, live events, music, entertainment, culture and promotional programs.
AsiaSat 2 provides regional power and coverage to 53 countries and regions in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, CIS and Australasia. The C-band beam stretches from Turkey and Egypt to Australia and New Zealand including China, India, Indonesia and other mass markets in Asia. The platform provides reliable access to cable operators, rebroadcasters, embassies, hotels and individual home viewers and listeners in the region.
