Alfacam chooses EVS servers for HD upgrade

In a deal valued at more than $8 million, Alfacam, a Belgian video facilities and services provider, has chosen EVS HD servers for its production work on major sporting events, including the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the A1 GP auto races.

With the recent acquisition of more than 30 XT[2] HD servers and dedicated applications, EVS said Alfacam now offered one of the largest supplies of HD technology for location production in Europe. The remote facilities company is also using EVS’ IP Director, XFile[2] and MediaXchange systems as part of the new upgrade. Half of the systems will be delivered in 2007 and the remaining half by summer 2008.

Running on EVS six-channel XT[2] servers, live feeds and multiple cameras angles are made accessible to the EVS Multicam LSM application to enable editing and highlight production, including live slow motion and super motion. Additionally, EVS IP Director software is used to ingest, log, manage, search, track and edit content and create clips and highlights, or browse, and ultimately play to air any video or audio content instantly.
