Abaltat offers new version of Muse soundtrack software

Abaltat has released version 1.1 of its Abaltat Muse video-driven soundtrack composer. Abaltat Muse is a professional software application for video editors that creates original, royalty-free, broadcast-quality soundtracks in minutes. A free 14-day full trial version of Abaltat Muse is now available for download or shipping.

“This latest version of Abaltat Muse features complementary and seamless integration with Apple, Avid, Adobe and Media 100 edit applications,” said Siun Ni Raghallaigh, Abaltat managing director. The software also includes full MIDI export functionality, allowing it to be imported directly into other applications including Digidesign Pro Tools and Apple Logic.

Using Abaltat Muse starts with a QuickTime file of your edited picture sequence being dropped into the application. The software composes a soundtrack based on an analysis of the video along with selected parameters such as tempo and style. Abaltat Band is the sub-program that defines the style of music, and is included free in version 1.1 of Abaltat Muse, along with an array of seven plug-in virtual bands for a diverse range of musical genres from classical to dub reggae.

Abaltat Muse composes the music and plays it out using a sample player and virtual instruments, incorporating technology from experts in the audio industry, namely Native Instruments and Garritan Libraries. As a result, the audio and instrument quality is extremely high. The resulting audio can be exported as AIFF or WAV files. The composition also can be exported as a MIDI file, should the editor require a composer to do additional work on his or her composition.

Abaltat will showcase Abaltat Muse at the upcoming Macworld show in San Francisco, Jan. 14–18, at booth S-1338.
