ViewCast Enables Customized Streaming Media Applications With Niagara SCX

PLANO, Texas -- July 31, 2007 -- ViewCast Corporation (OTCBB: VCST), a leading global provider of high-quality audio and video encoding communication products, today announced the availability of a Web services software development kit (SDK) for its Niagara® Stream Control Extension (SCX) 5-series streaming media management software. The new SDK will allow third-party vendors, content providers, and content delivery systems developers to build integrated streaming media offerings between their own products or services and ViewCast's Niagara SCX®based Niagara media encoders.

With the new SDK, users can create their own experience by controlling and managing all of the compression codecs included with every ViewCast® Niagara media encoder such as the Niagara Pro and Niagara GoStream™. Favorite compression formats, including Windows Media®, SMPTE VC-1, RealNetworks®, Flash® and Flash Live Video, MPEG-4, H.263, and H.264 -- singly or in combination -- can be integrated quickly and easily to meet a specific application's needs.

The SDK features a Web services interface that exposes the many control and management features of SCX to developers via Microsoft's Web Services Description Language (WDSL), enabling them to use ordinary XML-based methods to take full control of the SCX engine.

Developers may access the available functions and methods for Niagara SCX by browsing the SDK home page (which provides links to documentation), the WSDL file, and general information about the SCX encoder Web service to aid in software development. The ViewCast Niagara SCX SDK is self-documenting and provides detailed information about Niagara SCX-specific features and functionality, and also provides sample applications with source code. The SDK additionally includes software components that are required for running custom applications with Niagara SCX.

"With version 5 of Niagara SCX, we offer functionality for just about everyone, but some users still require the ability to configure the encoding and delivery process to meet very specific application requirements," said Dave Stoner, president of ViewCast. "With the addition of the Web services SDK, developers now have even more control with a single, unified suite of tools and example applets to simplify the creation, delivery, and management of compressed audio and video media for today's growing, multimedia-rich marketplace."
