Pebble Beach Systems wins key 15 channel project with Wateen TV

Weybridge, UK - Pebble Beach Systems today announces that it has received a purchase order, via Salam Media Cast, a leading systems integrator in the Middle East, to supply a Neptune automation system to Wateen TV in Pakistan as part of a turnkey solution for a new 15-channel playout centre.

The Wateen Group is an established market leader in the telecommunication industry in Pakistan and has experienced remarkable success in the communication sectors. The opening of the Pakistani Electronic Media Regulatory Authority led the Wateen Group to expand their business operations the television broadcast market.

Wateen TV is in the process of launching a 15-channel service based in a new purpose-built location in Lahore. The service will include news, various popular thematic channels and an interactive music channel.

The project incorporates three TV studios, with each studio equipped with 4 cameras, 2 M/E vision mixers, a sound mixer and other associated studio equipment including studio lighting equipment.

A proven ‘best of breed’ solution was chosen by Wateen after a detailed selection process, integrating Pebble Beach Neptune automation, Omneon video servers and MediaGrid storage, Vizrt branding, never.no interactive solutions and BTS traffic system. Pebble Beach Neptune will be responsible for carrying out ingest and transmission playout.
