Lyle Keys Awarded IABM Honorary Membership

SALT LAKE CITY -- Jan. 23, 2008 -- Utah Scientific today announced that its founder, Lyle Keys, has been awarded a 2007 Honorary Membership from the IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers).

Established in 1976, the IABM represents suppliers of broadcast and media technology products and services worldwide. With a community of more than 250 members, the association aims to identify and promote the interests of its members and to provide benefits and services that enhance their business performance.

The IABM, headquartered in Tewkesbury, England, created its Honorary Membership in 2006 to mark the occasion of its 30th anniversary. Two memberships are awarded annually and are given to individuals who have made an exceptional personal contribution to the supply side of the broadcast technology business.

“It is extremely gratifying to receive this recognition from such a dedicated and well-respected trade organization as the IABM,” said Keys. “The IABM has strived to be the global voice of broadcasting technology suppliers, and it is a privilege to serve the organization as an honorary member.”

Keys started his career in the broadcast industry in 1953. He was the founder and president of TeleMation, Inc., an early manufacturer of equipment for the broadcast, cable, and CCTV industries. Keys formed Utah Scientific in 1977, and the company continued under his management until 1987, when Keys, wishing to reduce his direct involvement, initiated the search for a new president/CEO. In 1991 he ventured into the telecom service business at Teltrust, Inc. as chairman of the board. While he now resides in Mesquite, Nev., Keys is still active at Utah Scientific, serving as its honorary chairman.

Keys will receive the certificate for his honorary membership at a presentation to be held at the 2008 NAB Show.
